Part of an extensive rangeZR485 wireless callpoints provide a manual means of initiating a fire alarm in areas where the installation of hard wiring is not an option. The unit is controlled directly from the main fire alarm panel, via a loop wired radio interface module. This arrangement allows both wireless and hardwired devices to be seamlessly located on the same loop wiring. The callpoint forms part of an extensive range of wireless fire alarm devices, which includes smoke/heat sensors in addition to alarm sounder units. Suitable for use on installations specifying the recommendations of BS 5839 Part 1, the callpoint fully meets the requirements of European Standard EN54 Part 11 and is approved by several international approval bodies. Resettable elementThe unit is operated either by pressing a resettable element (EN54 Part 11) or by breaking a frangible glass with finger pressure. Glass elements have clear vinyl coatings on the front surface to prevent operator injury and to inhibit the release of loose fragments as the glass is broken. Both operating elements are easily interchangeable. Each wireless device, controlled through the ZR470 interface is assigned its own IDENT address, with which the main control panel communicates, providing the same system facilities as directly wired devices. Special test keyThe ZR485 wireless callpoint is designed for surface fixing and is supplied complete with matching backbox. System testing is carried out by using a special key which when inserted into a slot in the base of the callpoint moulding, drops the glass element allowing the device to operate. Rated at IP42 the ZR485 is constructed of ABS plastic and is intended for indoor applications. A red LED indicator, prominently positioned on the callpoint front plate, flashes when the unit is operated. |
